Exhausted

Posted January 12th, 2010 by Leigh

Today I am exhausted!

I’m trying to stay awake while typing this post, thinking this could wait but it’s been a couple of days since my last post and I don’t like to lag behind.

I keep wondering how mommies cope with twins. I am in desperate need of sleep and not just one or two hours, a good couple of hours. Logan is pretty much on a 4 hour feed but in between that I need to care for Abigail and Joshua. I am trying my best not to neglect them.

Joshua asked me to watch Ice Age 3 with him last night, I think I made it past the first 5 minutes of the movie and fell asleep.

I am really hoping that at six weeks, Logan sleeps thru. We were very fortunate with Abigail because she slept thru from six weeks (8pm – 7am) and she still does. Hmm what are the chances of Logan doing the same:)

I feel pretty awful cause I’m not able to post often, let alone read other blogs. I try to log on to the pc at least once a day.

I would love to participate in the 365 photo challenge, but honestly I don’t have time, so for now I’ll just enjoy everyone else’s photos.

Gosh Leigh – I dont think we expect you to be fully back into blogging just yet hey :)

Two are a challenge for me so 2 under 2 – you need to be sainted :-p

Sheesh! I’m battling to get the hang of just one baby, can’t imagine what you must be going through. I hope you get some down time soon!

Take it a day at a time! It’s hard enough with one baby, you’re Superwoman!!

Ok, I am a mommy of twins, and truly, sleep deprivation is the worst of it. But really, you are doing so well! And I promise, you can sleep way less than you ever knew you could. You will be ok! Good luck to you.

Holding my thumbs for 6 weeks and Logan!
Look after yourself and the lil ones, that is the most important thing right now! We will all be ready for all the photos in the world when you are ready!

wow – did I read tgat correctly? Did you have 2 babies in 1 year? WOW!!! Been there – done that! AND survived. Not quite the same as you, I had 3 babies in 4 years. In the UK. ‘Nuff said!!
It does all get easier, and there are days when you honestly think you can’t cope… but you do!! My baby has now just turned 2… and dare I say it… I think I could have another! (Husbank does not agree!)
    Love your blog x

Will it help if someone comes over to look after the kids for a while so that you can catch a snooze?

I will even bank work to help out if that is viable…

Girl van die Suburbs – That is so sweet of you my friend, my mom comes around and helps out every now and again. Hubby is awesome too! Nanny is here as well but I kinda prefer to look after Logan myself, probably because I know this is going to be the last as hubby says we can’t have another :(
Kirsty – Wow, you too are brave!! A friend of mine had 5 under the age of 6, there were twins amongst them. She coped so I am sure I will too, just that some days I really take strain.
Alet, Jeanette and Cat – Thanks I am doing the one day at a time thingy………….I live in my pj’s :)

good luck with that – my Kid only slept through from 5 months of age.

i admire your bravery – i’m far too scared to have another child, in case he/she is MORE hard work than my relatively easy-going little boy.

    xx
