About a month ago we asked Jeanette Verster to take photo’s of our family. I love photo’s, I have frames all over my house. Whilst living abroad I’d collect a frame from every country, state or province I visited, so you can imagine how many I have. (Keep in mind I have visited over 35 countries)
A couple of years ago I had my own model agency and I was fortunate enough to work with many different photographers, some well known BUT I have never worked with a photographer that captures the actual feeling, moment and emotion – the way Jeanette did. She has the most amazing approach when dealing with children. Joshua had been feeling very left out because of all the babies etc. and Jeanette made him feel extra special. He was involved from the start, helping her find little hidden pathways or taking a sneak peep thru the lens. Joshua had so much fun.
I personally do not like having my photo taken, I was not blessed with photogenic genes, that was passed on to my sister. I tense up, my lips quiver and I get all nervous BUT not this time, I was relaxed and I had fun.
When I received my photo’s I smiled, because for the first time EVER I actually liked seeing myself in a photo. They were absolutely beautiful.
Now most of you know that we have quite a busy little family. Our two babies are only 10 months apart and only little Abigail is walking. We have a lot of bags, prams etc. Jeanette never once hesitated to offer her help, nor did she ever rush us or put us under pressure. We all took our time and had FUN!
The photo’s were delivered in a beautiful gift box, with a lovely letter. There was a “special personal touch” to our delivery. It is obvious that this is Jeanette’s passion. She is very talented and I highly recommend her as a photographer.
Our next photoshoot will be trashing my wedding dress, I think there is a special name for the shoot but I can’t quite remember.

My beautiful, beautiful little boy - Joshua

My beautiful princess Abigail

My precious little angel Logan

It is indeed called a “trash the dress” shoot, or TTD!
This is a wonderful shoot. I so agree with you on Jeanette’s innate talent for this,

The pics are absolutely gorgeous! And I know what you mean about the photogenic genes – if I’m actually posing for a pic I look horrid!
