On Saturday I dropped Joshua off at my friend Alison, as she was taking the kids to Gold Reef to celebrate Corbin’s birthday. I drove up the drive way around 8 am (very early for a Saturday morning) and guess who comes jogging up the hill – little Miss Ali. Wow, she looked stunning – her body well toned and she looked super fit.
I sat in my car, baggy track pants and all and I felt ill. I went on a diet a few months ago and did quite well but then winter crept in and the new shopped opened and at the new premises is a bakery, a samoosa lady etc. and poor old me just can’t say no to all the yummy food around.
However, seeing Alison has really inspired me. I am once again determined to try and shed 10 kg. I told my super fit hubby about my plan and he said he would help me.
So guess what happened on Monday morning, I was forced out of bed at 8 am to start training. Barend planned a half hour session with a 4 minute brisk walk then a 1 minute jog, he thought he’d help me ease my way back into the fitness world. Huh, easy!!! I could not even do the brisk walk for 4 minutes and my body started aching and this is no joke. Anyway he said we’d do the brisk walk for the first week and skip the jog.
I have to admit I felt pretty good afterwards. Tomorrow we are back on the road for another half an hour.
I’m not going to weigh myself, I’ve decided to rather let my clothes do the talking – they will let me know soon enough if I’m loosing or not.
I’d like to be a size 34 again. If my friend Ali can do it then so can I.

I’ve got it into my brain that I need to get fitter and healthier too. Gary and I went for a run (more of a walk) on Monday and haven’t had the chance to do it for the rest of the week so far… Hoping to be better next week! Good luck and congratulations on making the first move!
