Sun City

This past weekend my folks booked accommodation for all of us at The Vacation Club. I was super grateful because I soo needed a break and some alone time with my family.

Joshua and my dad otherwise known as Brampie

Logan and Brampie

Nana and Logan

Anyway we arrived on Friday, the check-in went fairly quickly.  The Vacation Club is really nice, we had a six sleeper self catering unit.

Barend and I decided to spend some quality time with Joshua, we played soccer and after dinner we headed to the entertainment centre while my folks watched the girls. We spent about an hour at the kids game centre, then tried to catch a movie but we were too late.  We had drinks at the Hotel. I ordered a Pink Panther, well it was not exactly what I was hoping for but I drank it anyway. We took a stroll around the gardens, they are just so beautiful. We arrived home shortly after midnight. Joshua was pooped but he had so much fun.

I had breakfast in bed, thanks to my wonderful father. The kids slept in my folks room so Barend and I had a good nights rest.  We all went to the Valley of the Waves on Saturday. We arrived and no sooner had Joshua and Barend disappeared to the slides / rides. Abigail enjoyed the baby pool, me not soo much cause it was freezing cold.  Little Logan spent most of the day on the beach sand, either eating it or eating her toys.

Abigail loves to share

Joshua and I went on the river with the tube while Barend took Abigail, of course we were the winning team. My legs felt it awhile later, think it is from all the kicking and pushing.

Every year Barend and I do something special for Valentines day and for our Anniversary.  This year it was my turn to arrange something for our Anniversary.  I secretly asked my mom to book us dinner at The Palace at The Lost City. Barend was clueless, he was under the impression we were going to have dinner at Squires Loft (after all he saw me make the booking).

While I was napping, Abigail got a hold of the bum cream

Our big date

I bought a beautiful dress and got all dressed up, ready for our big date. I asked if we could take the car as I had bought new shoes and I was so scared of getting a blister (yah right).  We drove all the way to the entertainment centre when I announced that I’d forgotten………….that I’d booked us at The Palace so we had to turn around.  His facial expression was priceless, he thought I was joking.  Anyway we quickly went home so he could change into smart pants as he was wearing shorts.

We arrived at The Palace and it is beautiful. We did the whole thing had valet service etc. It had to be very special cause we were celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary.  Unfortunately, the restaurant we had booked had a private function on and we were asked if we wouldn’t mind going to another.  No prob! We received free sparkling champs on the house:)

The service was superb.  The meal was divine. The company was awesome. We really had a wonderful, wonderful time. It was a bit pricey but it is only once a year that we treat ourselves. We watched a movie thereafter and had a drink.

Sunday we went to the animal world, which was a little dissappointing as they were busy with renovations. Most of the day was spent at the pool.

Barend took some beautiful pics of the animals

I had a long, long nap in the afternoon. Monday we made our way home.

I really enjoyed the weekend, the quality time with my parents, kids and husband. We played soccer, we swam, we ate, we drank, we had fun!!
