I don’t have much time to write at the mo, but I am desperately trying to type at least two posts a week. So here’s a bit of this and that.

Today my hubby and I picked up the sample boxes for our Christmas launch, I am so excited. Will send out your invites to the launch in due course.

Joshua got into trouble at school for calling a porky kid “fat boy”. Hmmm I explained to him that name calling is a no, no BUT then I remembered saying ‘Josh, you can’t go round calling porky kids” – ”fat boy”. Not setting a very good example I’m afraid. Anyway he will apologize to Chuchu tomorrow morning.

I made loads of products today. I keep running out of Eczema cream - this cream sells like hot cakes. I’ll have to get help sometime soon and I guess my hubby and I will have to start looking for a factory soon, for production.

I have the perfect distributor for the East Rand, will announce as soon as all the T’s crossed and I’s are dotted.

I seem to have more energy lately, I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I have stopped eating bread and peanut butter. Tomorrow I am going to cut out coffee (I only drink 1 – 2 cups a day) as I suffer with water retention, looking like a puffer fish.

Next weekend we are going to Sun City with my folks, staying at the Vacation club – I can’t wait. Hubby and I will be celebrating our 3rd year anniversary. I wish I could afford to spend a night at The Palace.

Joshua is flying to Durban tomorrow with my mom, they are going to visit my sister before she moves to Cape Town. I wish I was going with.

I want to start looking at show houses, as I am very keen to move into an estate however the plan is to move in the new year. Do you think it is to early to start looking now? (I just want to see what is out there)

I have two competitions lined up for Tranquil Body Treats, they will be posted within the next two days or so. (For babies, toddlers and kiddy winks)

That is pretty much it for now.

1) What bill do you hate paying the most?

I don’t pay any bills, I leave that up to my hubby

2) Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?
I think it was in Clarens with my hubby celebrating our wedding anniversary, approximately a year ago

3) What do you really want to be doing right now?
Lying in a hot bath with bubbles and a book

4) How many schools did you attend?
Two primary and one high-school

5) Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?
It hides my fat rolls

6) What are your thoughts on petrol prices?
Flippin expensive

7) First thought when you woke up this morning?
Gotta get those flapjacks done, coz I promised my snoopy

Last thought before going to sleep last night?
Please may I have sweet dreams

9) Do you miss being a child?

Can’t remember much about my childhood, so I guess the answer is no

10) What errand/chore do you despise?
Ironing! I cannot and will not iron.

11) Get up early or sleep in?
Oooh, definitely sleep in – I love my sleep

12) Have you found real love yet?
Yes. Unconditional love, it took me a good couple of years but I have most definitely found it.

13) Favorite lunch meat?
Don’t have a favourite I’m afraid

14) What do you get most time you go into a grocery store?
Bread and milk

15) Beach or lake?
Lake

16) Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?
Not at all.

17) Sopranos or Desperate Housewives?
Desperate Housewives I guess

18) What famous person would you like to have dinner with?
Enrique Iglesias

19) Have you ever crashed your vehicle?
Yip, I’m afraid I reversed into someone in the parking lot

20) Ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose?

21) Ring tone?

22) Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth?
Never had to brush them in a strange place

23) Somewhere in South Africa you’ve never been and would like to go?
Hmmm not too sure there is anywhere specific I’d like to visit in SA

24) Do you go to church?
Hmmm not really, and only because I’m lazy but this is onto do list. Going to try The Tribe in the West Rand

25) At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or a new relationship?
Neither

26) How old are you?
38

27) Do you have a go-to person?
I do.

28) Are you where you want to be in life?
I would love to be living in OZ or NZ

29) Growing up, what were your favorite cartoons?
Sherbet can’t think that far back, but I think it would have been gummy bears

30) What about you do you think has changed the most?
Since I’ve been working from home, I am not as confident and independent as I use to be BUT that is about to change with our new business venture as I’ll be on the road again. I am very much a people person.

Definitely my weight. Having the two girls in one year has definitely not helped my weight situation. I am not use to the extra kilo’s and it really bugs me, I’m trying to shed them.

31) Looking back at high school were they the best years of your life?
Noop can’t say they were, but they weren’t all that bad.

32) Are there times you still feel like a kid?
No not really.

33) Do you have a pager?
Nope, never had one.

34) Where was the hang out spot when you were a teenager?
Kites and Fusion night clubs in V-town and boy did we have fun

35) Were you the type of kid you would want your children to hang out with?
Yes, I think so. I wasn’t the rebellious type. Never smoked or drank whilst at school. In fact I’ve never jacked up a cigarette. Think I was a little bit of a nerd at school. I seemed to just concentrate on my sports. Now my college days, well that is another story:)

36) What is the scariest thing that has happened to you as an adult?
I was robbed four times in one year whilst living on my own with little Joshua..

37) What’s your favorite room in your home and why?

Don’t really have a favourite at the mo,

38) What advice would you give someone starting their first job?
Always ask if you are not sure. Do not pretend you know what is going on.

39) If you could go back and change one thing you did, what would it be?
I would have worked on having a better relationship with my late brother because now it is too late. I would have spent those extra 15 minutes with him when he asked (while he was in hospital), but instead I was too selfish and thought only of myself. It took me a long time to deal with the guilt but I am at peace now and I know he has forgiven me.

40) If you could go back and change one thing someone else did, what would it be?
At the time of my brother’s death, my then ex-boyfriend made me go to the funeral home to say goodbye

Bad table manners. I actually swap chairs with my hubby if we are in a restaurant and I’m faced with a sloppy eater, I think this stems from my childhood as my dad was super strict when it came to table manners.

Talking with food in your mouth.

Chewing gum and blowing bubbles.

Not spraying the loo after you’ve gone and even worse leaving the toilet bowl dirty.

Ill mannered kids.

Damn I was so sure that there was more. Have a fab, fab day off on Monday.

Baldy and I have been rather busy this week, sorting out the new labels for our products, re-arranging and decorating our study (I now have my own desk and credenza).

I have finally completed the price list for the Tranquil Body Treats range and have agreed that I will not extend the range for at least a year or so.

I’ve caught up on most of the blogs I follow and I’ve started posting on Tranquil Body Treats “yay”. You gotta see our awesome monthly specials.

Tomorrow I am seeing my first beauty salon client, she has our products in her salon but she is interested in the new hand and foot range, so off to V-town tomorrow.

I need to sand Joshua’s book shelf, I bought a second hand one and need to refurbish it. Still want to paint the gym – yip a bright orange, not quite sure what it is with me and orange lately but I love it.

Have a shoot load of products to make for the shop for tomorrow.

This morning I had a lovely lady visit my salon for a facial and manicure (first timer), guess what she will be back – she loved it. It is such a wonderful feeling when your client climbs off the plinth relaxed and happy and books for another session.

Later today I have two wax clients, yip summer is soon approaching so my diary starts filling up with waxing appointments. I’m not complaining:)

So tell me busy bee what have you been up to lately?

Do I feel guilty for sleeping in and only making an appearance at 12 pm, HELL NO!

Hope you all have a fan-tab-ulous weekend.

I’ve decided to start another blog and yes, I’ll make the time (note to oneself). I”ll probably only do one post a week, because that much I know I can handle.

My new blog posts will be about Tranquil Body Treats the benefits of our products, ingredients, tips, specials, etc.

I have finally completed the facial range and I must tell you that my anti – ageing cream is a winner. It is the BEST product I have made and I am so very proud of it. I’ve received such wonderful feedback from clients. I’m thinking my first post will be all about my miracle cream.

Our product range has grown remarkably, next week we are going to introduce essential oils – so very exciting.

We are busy updating our website with our full range and I’m hoping to have it complete within two weeks (no pressure love).

I hope you’ll enjoy my new blog and I’ll let you know when I’ve completed the first post.

How exciting, I am back! Wow, what an awesome, awesome day we had. We had our shop opening today and it was a HUGE success – thank you – thank you to everyone that attended. I was overwhelmed by the support from my family and friends. Baldy and I have worked very hard to make our dream come true and we are heading to success.

I have to admit that I am exhausted, last night I arrived home from the shop at 5 pm and started on the facial range. I managed to finish up at 12:45 am and then I was up again at 7:00 to decant the facial masks into their containers and get them labelled and ready for the big day.

Our shop is based at Life Style Centre in Randpark Ridge and it is beautiful. A few of my new blogging friends will be joining me tomorrow and I can’t wait. “can you feel my excitement?”

Anyway I pretty much put a hold on posts and tweets for awhile and only because I really didn’t have the time. I intend catching up all of your posts and will leave my comments, hoping to complete my reading by the end of the week. I have missed you all. There were so many days when I felt truly lonely – out of touch – out of contact BUT now I am back and ready to catch up on your happenings.

I’ve just finished a pizza and I’m sipping on some good red vino…………it feels soooo good to BE BACK!!!

Today, I had a look at my life and I am so grateful for the life that I have. Yes, sure I have ups and downs, but not nearly as much as others.

My aunt slipped into a coma last night. She was admitted to the Helen Joseph hospital, now most of you will know, that it is a government hospital. I believe it is shocking. Today she was moved to the Jo’burg Gen as they needed to operate and required the expertise of a neurosurgeon. I arranged to meet my mom at the hospital, she really needed some support.

My aunt (moms sister) is really less fortunate than most people I know, probably due to the choices she has made. They are very, very poor – hence the reason she was admitted to a government hospital.

I found my way to the Jo’burg Gen and I was amazed at how big the place was. I was instructed to go to the blue block, which I did. Driving into the parking lot was a nightmare, it is filthy, dark and smelly, needless to say I parked near the lift. As I stepped out of the lift I was shocked to see the conditions of the passages, I could not believe that I was actually in a hospital. I am very privileged as I have only been exposed to Private Hospitals.

The family eventually got together and we were told to go to the casualty section, which was on the other side of the corridor – a good 800 m. We arrived there only to be told that she will be sent straight to the ward when the ambulance arrived. We tracked back to the same ward. At least I got a good work out.

She arrived about an hour later. They had given her a hospital gown, which looked like a rat had gotten hold of it, probably had. It was awful to see her lying on the stretcher lifeless and pale. I had to fight back the tears for my moms sake and my cousin. She was put in a little room as they had no beds available. About three hours later the Doctor’s arrived. Now, I say Doctors as there were about five of them and the reason for that is because it is a training hospital. They all stood around her bed, quite like they do in Grey’s Anatomy – okay so there was no Mc Dreamy (damn).

My uncle asked one of the Doctors what the diagnosis was and what we could expect. The Doctor could barely speak English, which obviously sent everyone’s blood pressure sky high. A few mo’s later another Doctor came to explain what had happened and what they were going to do. She had blood clots due to a knee op (long story) and they medicated her to thin the blood but she had been given to much meds causing the blood to thin too much and basically seep into her body. The only reason the blood has not leaked out is because it is protected by the skin. It was decided that she needed a blood transfusion and if the blood thickened then they would operate. She has severe bleeding on the brain and because the blood is too thin, they cannot operate as she will bleed to death.

My mom, uncle and I decided to leave her with her husband and daughter so they could have some quality time together before they started the procedures. We went to say our goodbye’s and lo and behold, she woke up. Yes, she opened her eyes and looked around. Unfortunately, she cannot communicate as that part of her brain has been affected. It was such a joyous moment for us all. Happy tears were shed.

On my way home my mom called to say my dad had been re-admitted to hospital for another blockage. He was in hospital last week and they discharged him on Sunday. She is positive he will be okay and they will do a range of tests tomorrow.

I am sad that my dad is back in hospital but I am so grateful that my parents are in a position to afford medical aid and that he is in a private hospital with Doctors that speak our lingo and staff that are willing and able to work.

You have no idea what it is like to visit someone in a government hospital, it is shocking.

Today, I looked at my life and I realized that I am grateful for the beautiful home that I have, for the car that I drive. I have decent food to eat, clothing to keep me warm, healthy children and a husband that is my ALL. My aunts family on the other hand are not so lucky, they have no medical, no jobs, no car, a one bedroom flat that sleeps 4 of them.

My cousin is awesome, she is a wonderful Christian and has the most amazing faith.

Count your lucky stars you are not in their boat.

Bless them!

I managed to get thru most of the items on my “to do list” last week. I’m afraid I’ve not had much time to post or catch up on blog reading. I feel awful about this it feels like I am missing out, but I promised myself that I would try and read one or two posts a day.

We had quite a busy weekend. On Friday night I stayed up until 11 pm making products for the launch on Saturday.

My Saturday morning started very early in the salon. I seem to be doing a shoot load of waxing lately, but I’m sure it will slow down in winter.

We headed to V-town for one of my distributors launch. Wow, she went all out. There were approximately 30 ladies and they all bought something from our range. It was a fabulous launch. There was plenty to eat and drink. I received such wonderful feedback from the ladies about the products.

I slept over at my folks place as I don’t drive at night. I climbed in bed nice and early and slept thru cause my mom watched the girls.

Sunday we headed back to Jo’burg. My hubby took me to Life Style Centre to measure our little shop and then we started planning. Oh! yes, we are getting a shop for our product range, soooooo exciting. We have to purchase the shop fittings this week as well as bulk ingredients and I guess I have my work cut out for me. I’m going to be making products from early morning until late eve, BUT I am really enjoying it. It is taking off so well and I’m very pleased. We will hopefully open next week Tuesday.

The salon is not too busy this week and for once I’m happy cause I don’t think I’d cope if I had to many appointments.

Anyway back to the kitchen to blend and mix.

Have a good week!

The week ahead is gonna be a wee bit crazy, unfortunately no time for lazing around or having coffee with friends.

I have to order the ingredients for Tranquil Body Treats as I am seriously running low.

Collect my ingredients on the other side of the world.

Count stock.

Drop off sample packs at three corporate companies and have their orders ready by Sunday.

Make enough products for the launch on Saturday (one of my distributors).

Get all Mothers Day orders made up and delivered or posted.

Prepare small presentation for the Gourmet Market. (please hold thumbs that Tranquil Body Treats gets the go-ahead)

Hand out pamphlets for Tranquil Sanctuary at Helderkruin Laer Skool.

Complete the news letters for the salon and body products.

Attend to salon clients for waxing, facials and pedicures.

Pick up my cupcakes from Angel.

Celebrate my birthday with my hubby and kids.

Watch Joshua at his first cross country race and soccer practice.

Take Logan to Moms and Babes.

Design advertising board for Tranquil Body Products.

and I guess that is pretty much it……………….I actually thrive on “busy days” as it keeps me out of mischief!!!!
